Super Bowl excitement takes over Bay Area

Excitement for the Super Bowl has hit a fever pitch across the Bay Area, with the transformation almost complete a week ahead of the big game.Fans have already started showing up in Santa Clara, where they hoped to get a peek at all the sparkle and shine being added for Super Bowl LX.Most of the fans who came out to Levi’s Stadium on Saturday said they couldn’t afford a ticket to the big game, so they wanted to do the next best thing: getting as close to the stadium as possible. For some, this is a once in a lifetime view, one that San Jose resident, Ernesto Gutierrez, wanted to share with his 16-year-old son.“It looks nice. I would like to have more red and gold in there, but this is nice to have in our city, in our Bay Area,” Gutierrez said. “It’s good. It’s good for the economy and all around here.”The Super Bowl-themed Levi’s Stadium was a hot tourist attraction on Saturday, one that inspired Leonal Barajas to drive all the way from Fresno to check it out.“I’ve never experienced the Super Bowl in real life... so I am really excited to see it in person,” Barajas said. For some, it’s not just about the football game. This includes Keila Sinforiano, who considers herself Bad Bunny’s biggest fan. She said she came to the stadium just to be closer to where he’ll perform during halftime.Sinforiano wanted to see him perform so badly that she said she entered five contests to try to win a Super Bowl ticket, even trying to audition to become one of Bad Bunny’s backup dancers.“I saw the requirements. You had to be 5’7′′ and I am unfortunately just 4’11”,” Sinforiano said. “I still submitted my application, but unfortunately, I was not selected.”But she’s not giving up. She said she’s heading to San Francisco in a few days in search of more contests. It will be crowded, as tens of thousands of others are expected to descend on the Moscone Center for the Super Bowl Experience.Traffic is already noticeably heavier in San Francisco, prompting Mayor Daniel Lurie to recommended using the Muni to get around the city during this time. The city is also working on other ways to make Super Bowl travel smoother, running longer trains from Tuesday through to the end of the Super Bowl.Seahawks and Patriots fans have already made the trek to Levi’s Stadium as well, seeing first-hand where their teams will play on Feb. 8, Super Bowl Sunday. The teams arrive in the Bay Area this Sunday.
